Oceans & Water

Water is the most essential natural resource on the planet. The passing from open surfaces of water, such as oceans & lakes, though the atmosphere as water vapour & clouds, and back to earth as rain, is one of the necessities of the continuous growth cycle...without which we would perish. No water to drink, no water for plants to grow and no plants for animals to feed on. This is why it is important to protect this resource.
When the Earth was formed about 4600 millions of years ago there was no water. The elements of water, hydrogen & oxygen were locked up with the minerals making up hot molten rock. Once it cooled down the crust began to form and gases & water vapour were released to gradually form the atmosphere. Over the next 3000 million years this water vapour collected in the atmosphere, and when it was too much to hold, began falling for a lengthy period. The rain formed into puddles in the cracks and hollows of the Earth's crusts, these continued to grow creating our oceans.
